10th Wedding Anniversary

10 years ago today I married a special man. 10 years ago we thought this day was a long, long time away. I can't believe how quick it's come upon us; it seems like it was a blink of an eye.  We thought that for our 10th anniversary we would go back to Vegas (we honeymooned there) and renew our vows with Elvis, unfortunately that wasn't in the books this year.

In 10 years we have owned a condo downtown Toronto, our townhouse in Mississauga and our current side split home in Mississauga.  In 10 years we were pregnant 4 times and have 3 beautiful children. In 10 years we have seen our ups and downs, but worked through them together. In 10 years we cared for both my in-laws in their final days. In 10 years we had a few vacations to Cuba (which mysteriously stopped after baby #2). In 10 years we allowed our love to grow.

Wedding Party in front of the church.

Instead of a limo we rented a Mustang Convertible as our getaway car.
It also made for some nice pictures.

This picture is fitting as I am the fixer in the family.

We did our pictures on the rooftop garden of our condo.
Here is the wedding party.

A portrait of me.

We used this one for our Thank You cards.

Our first dance

I couldn't stop laughing through the garter toss. They had the theme song from Indiana Jones playing and Rock was looking for treasure.  It was too funny.

The cake was made by my mom's friend. I made the flowers on top of the cake as well as my throw away bouquets. Also not pictured I made the centre pieces and the arrangements at the Church.
(I bet that doesn't surprise anyone).

And I had to show off how I did the Russian dance in my wedding dress.
Yup all those layers of tulle were gathered up so I could do it

So early this morning Rock and I are leaving for a short anniversary trip. We will be leaving the little ones in the care of my parents for 1 night. I have never left one of my babies overnight when they were so young. Tutu still nurses up a storm at night and he's still a baby only 18 months old.  I know we will both survive but it will be hard. That said I am excited to have some one on one time with Rock, with 3 young kids those moments come few and far between. I'm excited to be staying in a nice hotel (instead of a motel like I suggested, I mean if the room is clean then who cares where we sleep and we'd have more money for dinner and shopping). It took a lot of convincing from Rock to book it.

We will spend the day as tourists in Niagara Falls, (I picked up some discounted tickets to the Ripley's museums on Wag Jag), enjoy the hotel amenities and go out to dinner to a Brazilian steak house and maybe visit the casino.

Friday after enjoying a complimentary breakfast we will drive across the border to do some shopping. I miss my shopping trips to Buffalo, it's been 2 years since we've gone.  We have some money saved up and a LONG shopping list.

Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing these precious memories with me.  I would love to hear your thoughts on our special day.

Thank you so much. Yeah too bad my knees won't let me dance like that anymore.

I took lots of pics and just posted them on my blog. In all the years I've been visiting this was the first time we acted like tourists and did all the cheesy fun things.
